This cutlery is manufactured with great care and precision and is made of high-quality materials. Colored PVD cutlery (gold/champagne/copper/black) requires slightly different care instructions than uncoated stainless steel cutlery. Please note that colored cutlery will still fade over time, even if the instructions below are followed.
If you are using the cutlery for the first time, we recommend washing it carefully by hand. Hand washing is also recommended for future use. This will help to maintain the color and shine for as long as possible. Avoid contact with scouring pads, bleach, and the use of soda. Rinse off food residue immediately or wash the cutlery directly after use. Prolonged exposure to salt and food acids causes damage. Do not soak the cutlery. After washing, use a soft cloth to dry the cutlery.
Dishwasher
This cutlery is dishwasher safe, provided the following instructions are followed. Avoid harsh cleaning agents, as these can damage the cutlery. Avoid using soda and use detergents with a phosphate content of 3% or less. Dishwashing programs with a temperature of 50°C or less are recommended. Rinse off food residue before placing the cutlery in the dishwasher. Prolonged exposure to salt and food acids (e.g., mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard) will damage the cutlery.
To prevent "contact corrosion," knives should be placed separately from forks and/or spoons in the cutlery basket or drawer. Contact corrosion is caused by the contact of different types of metal. Remove the cutlery from the dishwasher when the program is complete and dry it with a soft cloth to prevent stains. Water spots should also be removed with a soft cloth to maintain shine.
